From the President:

Reduce Energy Costs – Create More Jobs

John Kramer, PresidentRegardless of your political point-of-view, we all want to reduce energy costs because this helps stimulate the economy and create more jobs. Cambridge Engineering is committed to playing a leading role in achieving this goal.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct) that was extended through 2013 provides a form of stimulus money through tax benefits for companies who make their buildings more energy efficient. This is a great way to combat our nation’s growing energy problems and at the same time help companies lower their operating costs, get more competitive and increase their revenues for future expansion and job growth. It also helps create more jobs for the engineers and contractors that design, install and service energy efficient building systems like industrial lighting and HVAC systems.

An incentive for being more energy efficient isn’t exactly a new idea or an extremely complicated one but, as with many government programs, EPAct rules and guidelines can make it more difficult than it should be. This is the case with the types of commercial and industrial buildings that use energy efficient Cambridge heating technologies. These buildings can easily get EPAct tax benefits for efficient lighting but it has been a challenge to provide IRS documentation for energy savings associated with industrial heating systems because computer modeling is required.

Cambridge has overcome this hindrance by investing in the required energy modeling to document our equipment’s performance. We are also working with leading lighting and EPAct tax experts so that Cambridge customers are eligible for the maximum tax benefits. This allows them to upgrade their existing facilities with our more energy efficient Blow-Thru® heating technology and then get a deduction of up to $1.80 per square foot for a tax-enhanced energy efficient building design with new lighting and other building improvements. Not stopping there, Cambridge also has a solution to today’s biggest problem facing building owners and tenants, the lack of available cash or bank financing for needed building improvements.

I’m sure you have questions, so contact us today. Together let’s start reducing energy costs and creating more jobs.
