Features & Benefits
M-Series Make-Up Air Heaters
Performance
- Cambridge manufactures its own patented high performance burner with the industry's highest input rating per linear foot of burner. You can't get the high performance and extended life of a Cambridge burner unless you have a Genuine Cambridge heater.
- No wasted energy because this direct gas-fired heater design does not require a flue or heat exchanger. 100% of available BTUs are delivered to the building or air heating application.
- Most cost effective way to provide a large volume of clean, tempered ventilation air that will improve indoor air quality and offset building exhaust loads during the heating season.
- Variable Air Volume System is available with optional VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) controls to provide the most energy efficient way to compensate for varying amounts of exhausted air.
- High quality Cambridge construction is designed to outperform and outlast the competition.
Reliability
- Low-voltage, hot-surface igniter technology is the most dependable gas ignition system for gas-fired products.
- Cambridge Low Fire Start (Patent Pending) ensures smooth and consistent main burner light-off without antiquated pilot ignition controls.
- Stainless steel burner and flame rod reduce maintenance and provide longer service life.
- Shielded and ventilated motor assembly extends motor life.
- The industry's best warranty package includes 2 years on the heater and 5 years on the patented Cambridge burner.
- Watertight housing design with external drains: stops ingested water from leaking into building.
- Closed cell, non-water absorbing insulation in the base of each unit: eliminates condensation problems on underside of heater, (competition uses less expensive, fiberglass insulation which can absorb moisture, effectively reducing its R-value).
- Available with optional dual, low velocity inlet hoods: larger inlet surface reduces problems from rain and snow ingestion and integral racks provide same surface area as much more expensive V-Bank filter.
Safety
- Cambridge Engineering was the first manufacturer to have its Make-Up Air Heater tested and certified to the industry's stringent harmonized joint US/Canadian standard for Non-Recirculating Direct Gas-Fired Industrial Air Heaters, ANSI Z83.4/CSA 3.7-M99; all Direct Gas-Fired Make-Up Air Heaters were required to meet the new standard effective January 1, 2002 .
- Approved for use in both the U.S. and Canada.
- Cambridge M-Series Heaters have emissions less than 5.0 ppm carbon monoxide and 0.5 ppm nitrogen dioxide at all firing rates. This is well below the threshold limits established by OSHA and other public health organizations.
- Cambridge M-Series Heaters use 100% fresh outside air to improve indoor air quality (IAQ). There are no IAQ concerns from re-heating and partial incineration of indoor air as with direct gas-fired make-up air heaters certified to ANSI standard Z.83.18 for recirculating type heaters.
Fast Start & Easy Maintenance
- Installation flexibility with rooftop, under-roof, thru-wall, pad mount and indoor or outdoor vertical mounting options.
- External profile damper adjustment and built-in pressure gauge (manometer) reduce start-up time and insure optimal burner performance.
- Multiple easy-access doors for quick start-up and maintenance
- Service and gas valve leak test switches are provided for easy installation and service.
- Integral curb counter flashing and factory installed inlet accessories reduce field labor cost and speed up installation.
- Every heater is tested as a fully assembled unit to minimize initial start-up problems.
VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE (VFD)
Cambridge M-Series Make-Up Air Heaters with VFD controls provide the optimal solution for facilities that must compensate for varying amounts of exhausted air. VFD is superior to other variable air volume systems because our technology varies the outside air supply without the need for continuous operation of the motor at full rated horsepower.- Ability of one system to efficiently handle changing exhausted air requirements
- Significantly lower electrical consumption and operating costs
- Better indoor air quality because Cambridge VFD systems use only fresh outside air and do not recirculate contaminated indoor air
Benefits include:
Flexible VFD control options deliver precise performance to match the requirements of any facility. Contact your local Cambridge Representative for more information on optional VFD controls.
