Heating LEED/Green Building Projects
PROBLEMS:
- How do you select a proven, cost effective heating/ventilating system for green buildings and LEED compliance?
- Let's make that question even tougher. What if the building is a warehouse, distribution center or manufacturing plant for which there are very guidelines for green buildings.
- You can’t buy any type of industrial space heating equipment that is LEED or Green Certified.
SOLUTIONS:
- Specify "LEED-Ready" Cambridge® Heaters that are ASHRAE 90.1 compliant.
- Use our industrial heating expertise to help earn up to 30 LEED points under the new LEED v3 rating system in the two important categories of Energy Efficiency (EA) and Indoor Air Quality (EQ).
- Energy efficient Cambridge Blow-Thru Space® Heaters are recommended for LEED projects. They have 100% combustion efficiency (Ec) and 92% thermal efficiency (Et). Their high induction, air-mixing ratio minimizes stratification. Building studies document 40% to 70% energy savings versus other types of industrial heating systems.
- Cambridge heaters improve indoor air quality by using 100%, non-recirculated fresh air.
RESULTS:
- Owners, national developers, property managers, consultants, engineers and contractors now specify Genuine Cambridge Heaters for use in LEED Green Building Projects, including both new construction and rehab/retrofit projects.
- Energy savings from Cambridge heaters also means a corresponding reduction in carbon dioxide (CO2) and other green house gases that cause global warming.
- The dramatic green benefits of 50% energy savings with Cambridge heaters is shown in Table 1 for warehouses in the Chicago area that range form 50,000 to 1 million sq ft.
